Dayhome Change

We have had to make changes to where Tyler goes to Dayhome. Heather, our previous care provider, closed at the end of June. We have been with her since Tyler was 20 months old, and we have absolutely loved her. She has taught Tyler so much, and is really just a great person. We threw her a surprise picnic one Saturday, and she really had no idea. It was awesome. We had a lot of laughs and tears. We will sure miss her and her family, as well as the other kids from Dayhome. Tyler has made some great friends there. He now goes to Dayhome in our complex, which is really convenient. It is with a Sister in our Ward at church, so it worked out perfectly.

Family Reunion Fun

We got to go to my Mom and Dad's for the week last week for a Family Reunion. It was a lot of fun. Everyone was able to come except for the Peacocks, and they were missed. We did a lip sync battle, that was so hilarious. Everybody seemed to have a great time together. Thanks for planning everything Mom!

We went to For Whoop Up in Edmonton. We did a short wagon ride and toured the fort.

We spent a couple of days boatin at St. Mary's. It was so nice. The mosquitos are so bad in Southern Alberta this year, but there were hardly any at the lake. It was also nice to have a break from the heat in the water!

Canada Day

We were in Southern Alberta for July 1st this year. Tyler has never been down there for the Raymond Parade, so we hit that up. It was fun. The kids got lots of candy.

After the parade, we went to my Mom and Dad's for a BBQ lunch with cousins and some Slip N Slide fun.

Time Flies...

We are still here. I haven't been able to find the time lately to do much blogging. Here are some pictures of what we did for the first half of the year.

Tyler with his Skylander's from Christmas.

Ice Fishing at Bumpa's.

Cool Dude.

Trevor painted the Brake Calipers on the car RED. They look sweet. We also tinted the back windows and put on new mud flaps.

Tyler played soccer for the first time this year. He seemed to like it a lot. He gets pretty competetive sometimes, but is usually pretty good.

Kassandra taught Tyler how to use a bow. He was very good at it. Trevor and I were not so much.

2013 In Review

1. What did you do in 2013 that you've never done before?

Went to Niagara Falls. It was cool, but seemed to be a little too hyped up to me!

2. Did you make New Year's Resolutions and will you make more for next year?

I didn't make any actual resolutions this year.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Not that I can think of...

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Trevor's childhood friend, Ryan Jensen, passed away from H1N1 just before Christmas.

5. What places have you visited?

Whitehorse, Yukon
Hamilton, Ontario
Niagara Falls, Ontario

6. What was your biggest achievement in 2013?

I ran a 5K race - Color Me Rad. I never thought I would even want to do that. It was a lot of fun.

7. Did you suffer any illnesses or injuries?

Not this year. We stayed in pretty good shape!

8. What was the best thing you bought?

INGO Table IKEA Solid pine; a natural material that ages beautifully. Seats 4.
I bought myself a table for the basement to build puzzles on while watching tv. I find that I will fall asleep so fast if I am not doing something, so this was the perfect solution. It also makes me feel like I am accomplishing something, rather than just sitting around.

9. Where did most of your money go?

The most money we spent this year was on our trip to Ontario for a friend's wedding.

10. What songs will remind you of 2013?

Blurred Lines - Robin Thicke
Royals - Lorde
Trouble - Taylor Swift

11. What do you wish you had done more of?

Home Organization

12. What do you wish you would've done less of?

Watch TV

13. What was your favorite T.V. show?

Happy Endings (2011)

I personally think that this is one of the funniest shows ever made. At times the characters do get a little annoying and over the top, but it was so hilarious!!

14. What was the best book you read in 2013?

City of Bones

This is a teen fiction series, which currently has 5 books available. I read all five in 2 weeks. I couldn't put them down...

15. What was your favorite film of the year?

Gravity (2013)

We went to this show only knowing that it starred George Clooney and Sandra Bullock. We knew nothing of the story. I was given free passes, so we thought we'd check it out. We got there and found out it was 3D, which we normally do NOT like, but it was very fitting for this movie. We were on the edge of our seats the entire movie. It was very well done.

16. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?

I turned 32. We didn't do anything special. We had dinner and cake at Kori's house.

2013 Wrap Up

We have had an eventful couple of months around here. Warning*** Lots of Pictures!

For the November long weekend, the Patrick Sisters got together for our Annual Retreat in Canmore. We stayed at an awesome hotel, and had a fun, relaxing weekend. It was awesome!

At the end of November, we had the opportunity to go up to Whitehorse to meet Trevor's Granny Nevin. She is Bumpa's Mom. It was a really nice trip. She is a great lady. She seemed to really love Tyler and he liked her as well!

Tyler loves to cover his arms with his own "Tats", drawn by himself with his washable markers!

Building a snow fort with Dad. The neighborhood kids demolished it twice in one day, so they gave up.

On December 13th, Tyler got his Tonsils and Adenoids removed. He was a very brave kid. The next couple of weeks were pretty hard. He cried a lot because he couldn't eat, but was pretty good. He had an especially hard time at night. It was almost like having a newborn again. He would wake up screaming every couple of hours, then be back asleep within 10 minutes or so. I think he was having bad dreams about the whole experience. He is doing great now and is completely back to normal. Hopefully this will have some affect on his asthma problems!

We went down to Welling for Christmas this year. It was pretty low key. It was just TIff's family, Steve's family, Mom and Dad, and us. We did some crafts for the kids on Christmas Eve, and then just hung out. It was a nice visit as usual.

While we were there, we decided to drive up to Waterton on Christmas Eve and spend a couple hours playing around. It was really fun. The town was basically empty. We had a great time.

Our attempt at a more recent family photo.
